Recessed lighting with unsealed housing increases the home’s heating load. The escaping air heats up the attic and can lead to ice damming on the roof and condensation problems indoors. This kit seals the drafty housing and replaces the incandescent bulb with an energy efficient compact fluorescent. The universal kit includes everything needed to make the change (reflector, trim, replaceable bulb and adaptor) in minutes. Simply unscrew the incandescent light bulb and remove the reflector and trim. The new unit screws in to the original base. This kit is airtight and insulation-contact (IC) rated, so that insulation can be put up right against the unit.
